World PVP in a PVE server
February 16, 2008
Transferring from a PvP server to a PvE server is an experience. I did it to join a friend who was starting an end level raiding guild and needed a little extra fire power and my charming personality. Long story short – the guild died off and now I’m stuck as a pvp’er on a PvE server.
That’s ok. Makes levelling a hunter much easier without the gank-a-thon of a pvp world. But, last night I decided to attack a Rogue’s alliance npc escort quest in Searing Gorge. I’m not sure which one it is, but it’s right by the Grimeselt Dig Site with the outhouse quests. So, it flagged me and the rogue hit my pet and I commenced to concussion shot, kite, serpent sting, and Bestial Wrath the poor little Gnome to death. He was 1 level above me so I felt pretty good about it, regardless.
I hung around and finished up my quest in the area. The little gnome rez’s and I let him heal up and offer a duel after our PvP timer wears off. He emotes me to wait. Then tries his escort quest again. This time I let him do it without interference. The Roguish Rogue that he is comes back, flags and we commence the fight….except…..He has a Hunter buddy this time hiding for the gank. Yep, down I go.
Morale of the story is….World PvP on a PvE server is alive and well. Just really backstabbing nasty. No red dots on the radar. Oh, and don’t give quarter to the enemy. At all. Ever.
